John Lusk

Architect & President

Mr. Lusk is an experienced architect and president of JHL/Tecture, AE, P.C. He has over 30 years of experience in the fields of new building design, building restoration, historic preservation urban master planning and development, and commercial facilities. Mr. Lusk has managed over 200 architectural projects. He brings a complete package of architectural experience with emphasis on facility analysis, facility planning, facility programming, and master planning as well as the essential community empathy.

He received his Bachelor of Architecture in May of 1980 from Kent State University. Architectural Registration include New York (1987), Pennsylvania (2000), and Rhode Island (2001). Presently working on registration status in-conjunction with State of MA, CA and Others. Pre-Design - Owner / Project Scope & Meetings, Project Background Research.

Quentin Castle

Project Manager & Designer

Mr. Castle has 28 years of architectural experience, 4 years self-employed, 7 years for Stantec (formally Sear-Brown), and 17 years for JHL Tecture A.E., P.C.  He has been responsible for the administration, design, and implementation of a variety of project types from schematic design through the construction documents and construction phase.  His typical project involvement includes programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, as well as construction administration.  As a Project Manager, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design and construction process including developing and reviewing building plans to ensure they meet environmental, safety, structural, zoning and aesthetic standards. As an Architectural Designer, he is responsible for the coordination within the project team including members of the client’s team, contractors, vendors, and in-house engineering staff.  He is an experienced AutoCad and MicroStation drafter/modeler utilizing two and three-dimensional, as well as visualization, techniques for construction documents, building component coordination, and preparation of design presentations to clients.  As a Cad Coordinator, he is responsible for inter-discipline coordination, cad standards, file management, database management, Information Technology, and project deliverable timing. As an Office Manager, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm, 

 

Mr. Castle’s professional project experience includes;

James Dennis

Draftsman & Studio Manager

Graduated from SUNY College of Technology at Alfred, NY in 2014 with Bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering, James has been with JHL Tecture since 2018, head of studio management at our office in Hornell, NY.

Mr. Dennis is an experienced designer and technician He is proficient in hand drafting, AutoCAD Revit, AutoCad Architectural Desktop, and 3D Studio Max to design plans, site studies, elevations, sections, detail drawings, schedules, and to create renderings and animations. He is competent in the use of Adobe Products such as InDesign and Photoshop to create professional images, renderings, and presentations.

Chris Cloutier

Architectural Designer + Marketing Coordinator

Education:

Master of Architecture, Roger Williams University, 2021

Bachelors in Architecture, Roger Williams University, 2019

Chris originally grew up in the Boston area, and came to Bristol in 2015 for college and stayed after graduating in 2021. Living in towns with rich histories, Chris has always had a fascination for the built environments of New England, both new and old. Working for JHL for over 3 years now, Chris has worked on everything from large adaptive reuse projects, to new single family construction. Being among his first projects after joining JHL, Chris' favorite projects at JHL are the Unity Park projects due to the creativity and intensity that those projects require. 

 

In his spare time, Chris enjoys tending to his indoor plants, spending time with his friends and family, and trying the newest restaurants in the Providence area food scene.

Daniel Cusmano

Architectural Designer

Education:

Master of Architecture, Roger Williams University, 2021

Bachelors in Architecture, Roger Williams University, 2019

Originally from Ledyard, CT, Daniel had earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in architecture from Roger Williams University by 2021. He moved back to Connecticut for a few years where he worked primarily residential renovation and new construction before ultimately returning to his home away from home here in Bristol. Daniel brings his experience and expertise in residential and historic preservation to the JHL team including a specialization in 3D modeling and rendering to help bring the projects we design to life.

Since joining, he has utilized his skills in design, historic preservation, and client relations on both residential and commercial projects throughout the Bristol County area. What Daniel loves most about the field is the ability to challenge his design and critical thinking  while working personally with clients and builders alike. After work hours, you can always find Daniel watching sports or
anywhere with water and sunlight.​

Frederick Stachura

Preservationist, Consultant

Frederick Stachura is a graduate of Boston College (BA in History),

Boston University (MA in Preservation Studies) and Saint Louis University School of Law (Juris Doctor).

 

 Currently, Mr. Stachura works on historic tax credits, adaptive reuse and building development. With prior experience in the private practice of law, non-profit advocacy, and consulting. Mr. Stachura has developed specific expertise in preservation law and planning, organizational development, community advocacy and preservation-based real estate development. He has represented individuals, developer, neighborhood associations, and non-profit organizations before zoning and historic preservation agencies, and state courts. His professional interests include Main Street/Smart Growth consultation, blue economy initiatives, preservation non-profit organizational facilitation, and building collaborative relationships.

Mr. Stachura was previously the Planning Supervisor for the Maryland National-Capital Park and Planning Commisions's Community Planning Division, and has specialized expertise in technical preservation issues, preservation easements, ordinances, and preservation public policy. Along with teaching preservation law, advocacy, and policy at the University of Maryland, Mr. Stachura has taught historic preservation law and planning, and adaptive reuse and rehabilitation finance courses at Roger Williams University, Bristol, RI and Boston Architectural College, Boston, MA. He is currently the President and Chairman of the Maryland Association of Historic District Commissions (MAHDC), where he has served since 2010.

Chris Wilson

Preservationist, Consultant

Having worked in the historic preservation field for 31 years, Mr. Wilson most recently served the federal agency - Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) from 2010 to 2025. During his tenure, he provided oversight and guidance to 17 federal agencies including the National Park Service and the Smithsonian Institution on the National Historic Preservation Act. He has worked in multiple capacities within the field of historic preservation for municipalities conducting design review, preservation planning, assisting historic homeowners and commercial property interests with incentives as well as for state and other federal agencies. He has collaborated with multiple entities and provided conflict resolution for numerous projects.

In addition, he has been a county planning director, museum curator and has served on many non-profit boards including the chairmanship of Arlington County, Virginia Historical Affairs and Landmarks Review Board, serving on the board of the Winter Harbor, Maine Historical Society, Advisory Board Chairman of the Winter Harbor, Maine Music Festival and serves on the advocacy committee of the Frank Llyod Wright Building Conservancy. He holds a Master's Degree in Historic Preservation from Savannah College of Art and Design.
